Were you able to see the Wallenda walk in person? My family and I were lucky enough to win this contest http://www.niagarafallshotels.com/nik-wallenda-tightrope-walk/dare-to-win-contest.php to see it live in Niagara Falls! Was a great time. My five year old son wants to be a tightrope walker when he grows up now! Lol.

A day after my weekend at Niagara Falls and also the reading of “Journeys Across Niagara”. What a wonderful trip and sights of the awesome falls and what an enjoyable read enhansing the trip.

You bring up a good story. In the 1800′s when they decided to build the first suspension bridge, they held a contest for $5000 to string the first wire across. Many tried and couldn’t do it. Then a young boy flew a kite across the gorge and that was used to pull the first wire across. So when they tell you to go fly a kite – you and Ben Franklin will be in good company. BTW – when you go to see the Falls, make sure you go down in the gorge.

Interesting post! Maybe I missed it, but you should probably mention the guy who strung the wire across the falls. That had to be a feet in itself.

I absolutely love this. I had no idea about a stone chapel. Media never spoke of it that I heard.
I have been to the site in PA where flight 93 went down. It was a sad and myserious feeling with the thoughts of such evil that did this.
